Where your phone number actually goes.

To the driver who is coming to collect you, at the point we assign one, and to nobody else. The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence.

The short version

  • We collect what a journey needs and nothing else.
  • Your details reach the driver at the moment a driver is assigned — not when you book, and not before.
  • We never see your card number. The payment gateway handles that.
  • This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts, and has no trackers or advertising on it.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.
  • Ask us to delete you and we will, apart from the accounting records the law makes us keep.

01

What we collect, and why

Every field below exists because something in the journey needs it. There is no field collected because it might be useful one day.

Your name
The driver needs to know who to look for, and the booking needs to be in somebody’s name.
Your phone number
It is how the driver reaches you at the pickup, how confirmations reach you, and how your booking is identified when you look it up later. It is the one thing we genuinely cannot do without.
Your email address, if you give one
To send the confirmation and the receipt. It is optional, and a booking works without it.
Where you are being collected from and dropped at
The hotel or address is the journey. Without it there is nothing to drive.
Your flight number, on an airport booking
So the driver can track the flight and be there when it actually lands rather than when it was scheduled to.
How many of you are travelling, and anything you have asked for
Passengers and bags decide which class of car is sent. A note like “child seat needed” is kept with the booking so the operator sees it.
A record of what has been paid
The amount, the date, whether it succeeded, and the reference the payment gateway gave it. We need it to know what is still owed and to raise a refund.

02

Who it is shared with

Four parties, in these circumstances, and no others. We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not pass it to other travel businesses.

Who Goi Cab shares personal information with, when, and what
Who When What they get
The operator and driver assigned to your journey At assignment, and not before Your name, your phone number, the pickup and drop, the time, and your flight number. Not your email, not your payment record, and not any other booking you have made.
The payment gateway When you pay What is needed to take the payment. Your card or UPI details go to them, not to us — we never see them and we store nothing that could be used to charge you again.
The messaging provider that sends your WhatsApp confirmations When a message is sent Your phone number and the content of the message — your booking reference, the driver’s name and number, the vehicle registration.
Our accountants and the tax authorities As the law requires What is on an invoice. This is not a choice we get to make.

The reverse is also true, and it is worth saying: you are told your driver’s name and phone number, and nothing else about them. Their licence, their documents and their address are theirs, and a customer has never needed any of it.

03 · Payments

Payments are taken by a payment gateway. When you pay, you are on their page or their secure field, and your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank credentials go to them directly. They never pass through us and we do not store them.

What we keep is the accounting fact: an amount, a date, a status, a purpose (advance or balance) and the gateway’s own reference for the transaction. That is enough to tell you what you have paid, to work out what is outstanding, and to send a refund back the way it came. It is not enough to charge you again.

04 · Cookies, scripts and tracking

This website — the pages you are reading now — is static. It runs no JavaScript at all, sets no cookies, and carries no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers. Nobody is being told you read this page.

The booking application is different, because it has to be. When you look up your own booking, a short-lived cookie remembers that you proved the booking is yours, so you do not have to prove it again on every screen. It expires by itself, and it is used for nothing else.

05 · How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are financial records, and Indian law requires them to be kept for a set number of years. Those we keep for as long as we are required to and no longer.

Everything else — an enquiry that never became a booking, a note on a trip, a phone number that was only ever used to send one WhatsApp message — is deleted when you ask us to, and is not kept for its own sake.

06 · Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you, and where it came from.
  • Correct something that is wrong — a misspelled name, an old number.
  • Delete you, apart from the financial records described above.
  • Stop sending you messages that are not about a booking you hold.

Write to bookings@goi.cab from the email address on the booking, or call +91 97666 66000. Tell us the phone number your bookings were made on — that is how they are found. We will check you are who you say you are before we act, because a request to hand over somebody else’s travel details is exactly what this check is for.

We aim to answer within 30 days. If we cannot delete something, we will tell you what is left and which obligation is keeping it.

07 · How it is kept

Access to booking data inside our office is limited by role: the people who dispatch cars can see the bookings they dispatch, the people who handle money can see the payments, and not everybody can see everything. Operators and drivers see only the journey they have been given.

No system is perfect and we will not claim otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you what happened rather than hope you do not notice.

08 · Children

We do not knowingly take bookings from children. Where a child is travelling, their details are given to us by the adult making the booking, and we hold them for the journey in the same way as everybody else’s.

09 · Changes to this notice

We update this page when what we do changes. This version was published on 2026-08-29. If a change matters to bookings you already hold, we will tell you rather than quietly edit the page.

The commercial terms are a separate document: the terms of service. Questions about either go to bookings@goi.cab.
