01

Booking and payment

Getting a fare, what it covers, and how the money actually moves.

How do I get a fare?

Pick the route, the date, the time and how many of you there are, and the fare appears before you commit to anything. Airport transfers and daily rentals are priced instantly from published rates. Multi-day packages and interstate runs are priced by a person and come back as a written quotation.

Is the fare per person or per car?

Per car. Four of you pay what one of you pays. What decides the price is which class of vehicle you need — and that is decided by your bags as much as by your headcount.

How much is a taxi from Mopa airport to Candolim?

₹1,200 in a small car and ₹1,450 in an Ertiga or Innova, one way, tolls included. Every other route is published on the airport transfer page at the same rates — for comparison, Dabolim to Margao or Colva is ₹950 in a small car.

How do I pay, and when?

An advance online confirms the car. The balance is due after you have been driven — to the driver, or by a payment link sent to you. Card, UPI and net banking all work.

The advance is a stated percentage of the fare, and the exact amount is on your booking and on the payment screen before anything is charged.

Do you store my card details?

No. Payments go through a payment gateway and the card number never reaches us. What we keep is the fact that a payment of a certain amount succeeded against your booking.

Is tax included in the fare?

Any tax that applies is worked out once over the whole booking and shown as its own line on your quotation, rather than folded into the fare. If it is on the quotation, you can see it.

Can I book a car for someone else?

Yes. Give us the phone number of the person who is actually travelling, because the driver’s name, number and vehicle registration go to that number, and it is the number used to look the booking up later.

Do you rent self-drive cars?

No. Goi Cab is chauffeur-driven only — every booking comes with a driver. Self-drive is our sister company, GoiCar, at goicar.in. Same family, different product.

02

At the airport

Mopa (GOX) and Dabolim (GOI) — landing, finding the driver, and delays.

Where does the driver meet me?

Outside arrivals, at whichever airport you land at. Before you travel you get the driver’s name, phone number and the vehicle registration on WhatsApp, so you are looking for a named person and a known car rather than a sign in a crowd.

What happens if my flight is late?

Nothing, as far as your fare is concerned. Give us the flight number when you book and the driver tracks it. Waiting on a delayed arrival is included — you are buying the journey, not the hour it was meant to start in.

What if I land at two in the morning?

The car is there. Late arrivals are the most common booking we take. A night rate applies between 19:00 and 06:00, and it is inside the fare you are shown before you pay — it is never added afterwards.

Which airport should I fly into?

Whichever is closer to where you are staying. Mopa (GOX) is in the far north and wins for Candolim, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim and Arambol. Dabolim (GOI) is in the south and wins for Vasco, Margao, Colva, Benaulim, Palolem and Agonda. Around Panjim the two are within a few hundred rupees of each other.

How much luggage fits?

Every class publishes a bag count as well as a seat count, and the bag count is usually the one that decides it. Two adults with four large suitcases do not fit a small car whatever the seat count says. If you are unsure, tell us the number of bags when you book rather than at the kerb.

Do I have to pay anything at the airport?

No. There is no cash to find at arrivals, no toll to settle and no parking to reimburse. Tolls and the driver’s allowance are inside the transfer fare.

03

During the trip

The driver, the car, and what happens if the day runs long.

Is it the same driver for the whole booking?

On a single transfer, yes. On a multi-day package you can ask for the same driver and car throughout, and we hold it that way where the operator can — it is worth asking for, because a driver who already knows your plan is a different experience on day three.

Will the driver speak English?

Most speak workable English as well as Hindi and Konkani, but it varies by driver and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. If fluent English genuinely matters for your trip, tell us when you book and we will place it with an operator who can supply it.

Can I add a stop along the way?

On a transfer, a detour is a change to the journey you booked — tell us before the day and it is priced into the fare rather than argued about in the car. On a daily rental you are already buying time and distance, so a stop simply uses some of it.

What if we go over the 8 hours or 80 km on a rental?

You pay the published overrun rate — ₹200 an extra hour, and a per-kilometre rate printed on the daily rental page for each class. The odometer is read at the start of the day and again at the end, and both readings end up on your booking.

Who pays tolls and parking on a rental day?

You do, but at cost and with the receipt attached to your booking — never as a rounded-up number at the end of the day. On an airport transfer, tolls are already inside the fare.

Can you supply a child seat?

Ask when you book and we will tell you honestly whether the operator running your car can supply one. It is not something every vehicle in Goa carries, and that is a better thing to know before you travel than after you have landed with a toddler.

The driver has not arrived. What do I do?

Call +91 97666 66000. Do not stand at the kerb wondering. We hold the booking and the price, so finding you a car is our problem to solve, not yours.

04

Changes and cancellations

Moving a booking, cancelling one, and what a cancellation costs.

How do I change the time or the date?

Call or WhatsApp +91 97666 66000 with your booking reference. A change is not a cancellation: where the operator can move the car, we move the booking and you keep your fare. The earlier you tell us, the more likely that is.

My flight moved to another day. Is that a cancellation?

Not usually. Tell us the new flight number and time and we treat it as a change. A flight that slips by a few hours is not even that — the driver is tracking the flight, so a delay handles itself.

Can I cancel, and what does it cost?

You can cancel from your booking page or by calling us. What it costs depends on how long before the pickup you cancel: cancel well ahead and you pay a small share of the fare, and that share rises the closer you get to the service, up to the whole fare very close to it.

The exact percentage for your booking is worked out from your pickup time against the cancellation bands the office publishes, and the fee and the refund are stated to you as part of the cancellation. If you want the figure before you decide, call or WhatsApp us with your reference and we will tell you what your booking stands at right now.

How does the refund come back?

To the method you paid with, through the same payment gateway. It is raised against your booking when the cancellation is made, and it is visible on your booking page.

What if you cancel on me?

If we cannot supply the car we agreed, we find you another one — that is what contracting the journey with us means, rather than booking one particular driver. In the rare case that we genuinely cannot, everything you have paid comes back to you in full.

Where do I find my booking?

On the booking page, using the reference we sent you and the phone number the booking was made on. It shows the journey, what has been paid, what is outstanding, and — once a driver is assigned — that driver’s name and number.

The phone is answered by the people who dispatch the cars, not by a script. If your question is about a booking you already hold, have the reference ready.
